The business association for Downtown Bend was formed in 1982 as a private nonprofit serving the over 200 businesses and 80 property owners in the downtown district who fund the association. Our mission is to improve the economic vitality by enhancing the experience, image and lifestyle of Downtown Bend.
The association also works cooperatively with businesses, the Shops at the Old Mill, the City, the Visitors and Convention Bureau and local lodging properties to promote Bend as a destination. Marketing is done in partnership with these organizations and funded in part by the membership of the association.
Economic Improvement District Info
The association operates the Economic Improvement District created in May of 2007 by ordinance in the City of Bend to achieve specific objectives to improve downtown. The EID was created by a vote of the property owners who agreed to assess themselves $0.11 per square foot of commercial space to complete a scope of work to improve downtown.
